City Espresso’s Socrates Café is a modern-day philosophical discussion group held the second and fourth Thursdays of the month inside124 South Fifth Street. For more info, visit the café’s website.

Berks County Electronics Recycling Event

 

Coming Oct. 17th and 18th in 2008 at FirstEnergy Stadium on Route 61, there will be an electronics recycling event. The following is a list of what is accepted and the costs:
Computers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, modems and printers, $1 each.
Also accepting fax machines, copiers, telephones, microwaves and Freon-containing items such as air conditioners, all at the dollar-fee.


All radios, stereos, televisions and VCRs, $18 each.
Batteries will be taken in at 75 cents a pound.


Household hazardous waste (i.e. paints, solvents, cleaners and poisons)
will not be accepted at this electronic recycling events.

A hazardous waste disposal event will be held at the stadium on October 4 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
